Carol and Joan
If you
call the Bally Barto office and a very nice woman answers
the phone, you'll just have to guess whether it's Carol or
Joan you're speaking with. Both grew up in the area,
have the same accent, and both have been working with Bally
for over thirty years! Carol started in Bally's Parts
Department through the local high school's co-op program.
At that point, order entry meant manual typewriter entry and
phone calls to the stock room to see if an item was in inventory.
Now, she finds up-to-the-minute inventory status on her PC.
According to her co-workers, "...nobody knows Bally parts
better than Carol; she knows them in and out".
Carol says she's stayed at Bally for thirty years because
she enjoys the people on the phone and in the office.
Joan has
been with Bally Sales for the last twenty-five years.
Before that she was in Bally's Traffic and Order Entry Departments.
She agrees with Carol that over the last 30 years, it's been
the evolution of computers that's made the biggest differences
at Bally. In her work, Joan facilitates the steps that
make a Bally order: from the quote process to drawings
for approval to the final order. Joan says her favorite
part of the job is talking with her customers and working
with the reps. She says there are alot of nice people
out there. Sounds like there are alot of nice people
in the Bally Barto office, too!
